Трехфазная центрифуга-декантер серии LWS используется для разделения твердых и жидких фаз, а именно одной твердой фазы (с наибольшей удельной плотностью) и двух несмешивающихся жидких фаз с различной плотностью. Конвейер вращается в том же направлении, что и чаша, но с другой скоростью, материал подается в чашу через неподвижную подающую трубу. Центробежные силы вызывают мгновенное осаждение твердых частиц на стенках чаши, в то время как две жидкие фазы образуют слой легкой жидкой фазы и слой тяжелой жидкой фазы. Шнек транспортирует твердые частицы к коническому концу чаши и выводит их из центрифуги через выпускное отверстие для твердых частиц. Затем легкая жидкая фаза непрерывно выводится через переливное отверстие на большом конце чаши, а тяжелая жидкая фаза выводится через центробежный насос на большом конце чаши, таким образом осуществляется трехфазное разделение.
