Этот тип машины используется для разделения твердых и жидких материалов. Чаша вращается в том же направлении, что и спираль, но с другой скоростью. Материал подается в чашу через подающую трубу. Под действием центробежной силы твердые материалы осаждаются на стенке чаши, образуя осадочный слой. Жидкие материалы образуют последовательно кольцо из жидкой фазы, слой твердой фазы и слой жидкой фазы от стенки чаши внутрь. Затем жидкая фаза выводится через центробежный насос чаши на большом конце.
