Zheng He's voyages were seven large-scale maritime expeditions undertaken during the Yongle and Xuande reigns of the Ming Dynasty. Commissioned by Emperor Zhu Di (the Yongle Emperor) and led by the eunuch admiral Zheng He with a huge fleet, these voyages effectively opened a gateway to overseas for the Ming Dynasty.
